About The Family Shoot

We pride ourselves on offering the complete photographic experience.
Our photographers are trained to the highest level, ensuring that both adults and children are put at ease.

A photo shoot with Maxam Photography is not a sit and smile experience. It’s a fun experience where the smiles are natural and the photos are filled with laughter.

All studio portraits are shot on a bright white background, so we encourage you to dress in bright vivid clothing that really stands out. You’ll love the results.

Don’t forget you can bring along a prop, or favourite toy. Anything that symbolises you as a family.

Once you’ve had your shoot, we’ll process your photos and either upload them to our private, password protected, client site or arrange to visit you at your home where we will present the photos from your shoot in your own living room. We’ll take your order right there within a week your prints could be on your wall.

How Much Does It Cost?

Studio shoots start at just £60 for forty five minutes and include a free 10"x8" Gloss Print (unframed), worth £20
The prices of additional prints start at just £10 and include free delivery. Canvases start at just £64 + delivery.

If you’d like your print framed we can do this from just £30. Your photographer will discuss different framing options with you, or you can view available frames on our ordering site.

Kids Rock!

Maxam Photography love the fresh innocence and joy that is inside every child.
This especially goes for Paul Smart the owner and senior photographer at Maxam Photography.

Paul Smart is a father of two, 1 boy (5 years old) and 1 girl (2 years old), so he’s accustomed to dealing and working with young children and has discovered that the secret to photographing babies and toddlers is through patience and fun.

Almost alll Maxam Photography staff have children of their own, ranging from pre-schoolers to teenagers, and have a proven track record of using their parenting skills successfully in the studio.

We find a relaxed, informal environment tends to work best in all areas of portrait photography. The more at ease the subject, the better the portrait. Once the subject is relaxed and enjoying the experience, our task as photographer is that much easier.

Where Does This Happen?

Maxam Photography gives you a choice of locations: in either of our modern studios (Exeter/Plymouth), in an outdoor setting of your choice or in your own home (space requirements must be met). Because we are based in Okehampton, Maxam Photography have access to some of the most spectacular outdoor locations in Exeter and Plymouth.

Of course we tend not to shoot children outdoors during the winter, but adults are welcome to all year around.
